I am a PhD student of the Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing Group at the CINVESTAV-Saltillo. Since September 2015 I have been working under the supervision of Dr. Abril Torres in the area of vision for quad-rotors. The objective of my project is to have a swarm of quad-rotors that can automatically navigate in an unstructured environment and in presence of smoke to search for people walking or lying on the ground. To this end I am researching algorithms for people detection (mostly HOG algorithms with SVM) in OpenCV and Python.
I was born in Michoacán, Mexico. I obtained the B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering at the Technological Institute of Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán in 2005. In 2011 I entered the M.Sc program in Electronic Engineering at the Technologic Institute of Guzmán City, Jalisco.
